I first connected with Donovan’s mom, Karen, several years ago when his older brother was graduating high school. Although we weren’t able to work together at that time, I was thrilled to hear from Karen again years later when she replied to one of my monthly newsletters. She shared that her youngest son, Donovan, was now a senior and needed portraits.
During our first phone call, I got to know Donovan and what makes him tick. Like many senior guys, he’s into sports, video games, hiking, and boating. But what really stood out to me was his practicality, “wisdom beyond his years”, and his love for problem-solving—he’s aspiring to go into engineering or medicine!
Donovan’s family owns a beautiful piece of property, a place that holds special meaning to them. It was clear that this location would be perfect for his session. Donovan mentioned a 100-year-old maple tree on the property that he wanted to feature in his portraits—such a thoughtful and unique detail that speaks to his appreciation for family and history.
